A note from Misty Creek about beautiful Basomi ...

Basomi has been returned to Misty Creek Dog Rescue. Her adopter said she bit someone and was going to put her down. We didn't think that was right, especially considering how sweet and well behaved Basomi is! We took her back and have been watching her closely to see if there is any aggression. So far, there hasn't been any, and she is just an absolute doll! She can be fearful of some things, and that insecurity may have led to her reaction. She needs a home that will take care of her and make her feel safe. She needs some stability in her life, and with that you will really see her bloom. She is fearful of children and should not go to a home with kids.  However, Basomi is great with other dogs and would love a playmate in her forever home.

She is also housebroken, wonderful in her crate, rides well in the car, knows how to sit and comes to a whistle. Basomi loves nothing more than to be in your lap and cuddle. She loves to chew on her toys and chase balls, and is getting pretty good at fetch.

She enjoys chasing and wrestling with other dogs, the rougher the play, the better! Basomi is easy to correct and a fast learner. She will make an excellent companion in the right home.

December 3, 2011 Adoptathon!

I hung out at a multi-rescue adoptathon last weekend for the whole day. And I was such a good girl. I had a great time playing with all of the other dogs I met, and greeted so many people with perfect manners!

Here is a picture of me, posing for the camera:

I would go to another one of those anyday!

I am working on having excellent manners. And from what my foster family says, I'm doing awesome! I am very smart, so I find it pretty easy. It definitely helps when someone is teaching you and encouraging you! I get lots of praise when I do the right thing!

I can sit so pretty!
I am working leash skills, and doing pretty great!

I am looking for a home that will be patient with me while I learn to trust people again. I'm coming along, but it's important that my family remembers that I might get a little timid every now and again.  I know I will make someone very happy - I am just such a good girl!

I just want a family to call my own, and someone to snuggle with...

If you are interested in meeting me, just contact Misty Creek Dog Rescue to set up a meet 'n greet!

About me!

I am sure a mix of breeds; everyone has a different opinion! What do you think?

I am a very sweet, cuddly girl with a lot of love to give! I bond really closely with the people in my life. I can be a little timid of strangers at first, but I warm up pretty quickly.

I don't love young children, however. I'd do best in a home with older kids and adults. I also need an active home, with lots of walks and maybe another dog in the house to play with.

I really like playing in the yard with my toys - I run around with them, tossing them and catching them. I don't mind entertaining myself sometimes!

A little intro....

Hi there! My name is Basomi. I am a medium sized 2 year old mixed breed. I came from a high kill shelter in LA - I didn't have a great start, but things are sure looking up for me now!

I am a pretty calm girl. I really like to play - I'm great with other dogs! But I can play by myself too. I am always up for a cuddle with my foster mom ...
